Bodies in Space is an initiative by Miauw vzw.
We create temporary cultural playgrounds for artists and performers. You may know us from previous projects Mercerie and Catclub.

Bodies In Space (BiS) offers a home for emerging and established artists to openly share grounds through experimentation and exchange. Our goal is simple: to offer space for experimentation, creation, and collaboration. By giving artists affordable access to studios, rehearsal rooms, and performance spaces, we’re helping to fill the gap in Brussels' arts scene and giving young talent a platform to grow.

Situated in an iconic modernist building, originally designed by architect Constantin Brodzki in St Agatha Berchem. (A few minutes away from the Basilic of Koekelberg).

It features multiple plateaus with a specific range of characteristics, hosting residency studios, shared and private ateliers, rehearsal rooms, a club, a cinema room, and a showroom for presentations and performances.

Our network of established institutions, curators, and cultural organizations helps open doors and create opportunities for new talent to step into the professional art world. By facilitating collaborations with iconic spaces and platforms, BiS plays a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of artists and fostering long-term growth in Brussels’ creative community.

This project builds on the legacy of Miauw vzw, a collective that has been transforming vacant spaces in Brussels since 2000. From the iconic Catclub events to the recent success of The Mercerie, Miauw has always been about giving artists space to create. BiS is the next step in that journey—bringing new possibilities to the Brussels dance and performance scene.
